However, this never happened and I had to email to find out, still nothing was explained. I am still not sure when the appointment will be. I feel as if I have been left hanging.

  • I felt like I was talking to a robot, who was only interested in carrying out a risk assessment. No idea if I will have any follow up treatment. Little or no information was fed back.

  • Initial assessment went fine. I was told the lady would be in contact to let me know if I had been successful to go on waiting list for it could take a couple of weeks. 10 weeks later still not heard anything which has only effected my mental health more as feel I’ve been forgotten about.

  • Kept to your word. Do not tell vulnerable people you will get back to them and then don’t. I am now left in limbo - with no offer of any kind of help as far as i know.

We are concerned to hear of your experience with us, it would appear that our service was not fully explained to you. Plymouth Options is a service for anxiety and depression and the treatment model is about looking at understanding symptoms and how to manage them, this is turn helps recovery. However, we do understand Cognitive Behavioural Therapy does not suit everyone's needs and hope that you have been recommended a more suitable service.

  • Doing an assessment on the phone left me alone and vulnerable, after having to discuss traumatic and anxiety inducing events.

    I'm also sick of getting referred to "online resources" that can be found on page 1 of Google, when what is really needed is person to person support and care.

  • Change the assessment questionnaire. Asking patients to quantify their depression and anxiety on a level of 0 to 8 makes no sense. You can't put suffering and distress to a numerical value - and trying to arbitrarily put people into boxes for the sake of ease means losing the needs of the individual in a field of digits.

    Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback. We are obliged as a talking therapy service to give clients these questionnaires, they are a useful tool for several reasons:

    • Monitor and support the delivery of NICE ( National Institute of Clinical Excellence)-recommended care.

    • Provide information to the therapist that will help identify appropriate targets for

    intervention in the next therapy .

    • Help people to chart their progress towards recovery. People have reported that

    they value seeing their scores, and how their scores change over time. As well as helping the person to understand more about their

    condition, they can help to support the development of the therapeutic relationship,

    help to show improvement and include the client in decisions about treatment.

    •Support supervision of the therapist to ensures therapist is offering right treatment for the client.

    As a service we are unable to change them, it is an NHS requirement and will do our best to explain why hey are needed. However therapists fully understand, clients frustrations in having to complete them
